HOW CAN WE POSSIBLY CHOOSE?

Hey all,

I'm still waiting for some of the Feb. picks (WAGW & Deadline) to arrive at the library for my reading purposes. I'm also frantically trying to track down March's picks so that I can read them in the allotted time. I may overlap here. =) At any rate -- ready to select April's books? Can you BELIEVE we're already picking APRIL!? This year is flying back.

At any rate, reviewing Erika's earlier request she had picked:

1. The Quiet American, by Graham Greene

My pick is:

2. A Chance to Die: The Life of Amy Carmichael, by Elizabeth Elliott

That leaves us hunting for 2 more titles. Sky? Rose? What would your picks be?

Um, could you maybe give me a TYPE of book? It's really difficult for me to choose ONE.
Mystery, fantasy, spiritual, western, classic...
Oo! Eragon! No wait! Her Father's Daughter! No, no, The Tightrope Walker! Ooo, what about Last of the Breed! No, I know! Three Go Searching. Rainbow Cottage? Thunderhead? The Virginian? AGGGGHHhhhhhhhhhhhh.......

See? I am already overwhelmed!

Oh oh! I was going to pick Eragon for May! =D JB got it for Christmas, read it and thought it was really good. I haven't gottena chance to read it yet. Can we go with that one? ;)

YES! I love it! I would enjoy reading it again. (Eldest is the second book of the Trilogy and I just finished that.)

"want" is such a relative term.... seeing as my "picks" are all what my bookclub in DC decided on (I'm trying to make my reading load easier by repeating one book in both clubs).

But since your asking for suggestions, I just pulled "Brendan" by Frederik Buechner (sp?) from the Library of Congress, because I just finished his other short work "Telling Secrets" (see previous post) and really liked it. He was recommended to me originally as "modern" Christian fiction, so I thought I'd check him out.

Well, eventually, I would really love for us to read Till We Have Faces, by C. S. Lewis. I want to hear y'all's opinions on it. But that's rather deep, and we don't have to plunge into it right away. Here are some other thoughts:

-A good swashbuckler - The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Prisoner of Zenda, Scaramouche, Beau Geste - whichever one the most of you haven't read yet!

-Drink To Yesterday/Toast To Tomorrow, by Manning Coles - simply one of the best authors of British spy stories/thrillers out there!

-Cheaper By The Dozen, by Frank Gilbreth, Jr. - don't be fooled by the movie; it's a classic book and an easy read to boot!

Ok,

With everyone's votes "in" (I'm assuming that Erika is sticking with her original request as I didn't get the feeling she was suggesting otherwise ;):

1. The Quiet American, by Graham Greene;
2. A Chance to Die: The Life of Amy Carmichael, by Elizabeth Elliot;
3. Eragon, by Christopher Paolini; and
4. (I'm voting for) Drink to Yesterday/Toast to Tomorrow, by Manning Coals

Shall we have the final vote? =D

BTW, Rose, I think reading Till We Have Faces is an awesome pick (I've never read it, but would love to). How 'bout we read that one in May?
