Proposal

Ladies, I think we've all read a large variety of "relationship" books, whether on being single, dating, or marriage.

I think it could be helpful to put together a list of the good, bad, and ugly (with our book reviews as supporting evidence, of course); this way we can collectively read the good ones, and not all waste our time on the bad ones.

I've read:
I Kissed Dating Goodbye, Josh Harris
Boy Meets Girl, Josh Harris
Courtship, Doug Wilson
Finding Your Million Dollar Mate
....many more that I can't remember right now

Any takers?

Whew. I thought everyone had disappeared from this blog. =D

In addition to the ones you've read, elr, I've read "Lady in Waiting" by Jackie Kendall and Debby Jones. It's been a looong time but I remembered liking it so much I gave my copy to my MIL to read for SIL purposes. I'll have to find out what she thinks of it when she's done.

I also read Passion and Purity and Quest for Love by Elizabeth Elliot. I can't remember what I thought of either, although I do remember what I think of her writing style generally. =)

A Woman After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George is a beautiful book about serving God in the everyday life we lead, specifically in the ways we minister to our families.
One of my most favorite autobiographies talking about a personal walk with God is Dale Evans book The Answer is God.It was written before Angel Unaware. Both are sweet and touching tear jerkers.

I'm specifically intersted in opinions/comments/reviews of titles such as:

"Captivating"

"For Women Only"

"His Princess: Love Letters from Your King"

"What every Man Wants"

"The Power of a Praying Wife"

"Touchpoints for Couples"

"A Woman after God's Own Heart"

Etc, y'all get the idea.
I'm interested in everything pop-Christian culture is putting out regarding romantic relationships (or lack there of). Comment please!! Anything you remember reading, a few lines on how you felt about it and why; was it helpful, or a waste of time, etc.

Part of my interest is professional as I run the book "table" for our 20s-30s group at my Church. Part is also personal, as I've been dating a guy for almost 6 months now and am overwhelmed by how MUCH I need to learn about doing a relationship "rightly", and even more overwhelmed by how much "helpful" material there is available.
